Artist Statement: "My painting is a record of my observation with a largely unconscious expression of my emotions, abstracting details to the simple essence of the design."

University, Philadelphia PA. She earned 12 credits at University of California, Berkeley, CA.
In 2019 Susan was awarded 2nd place at the Sharon Historical Society's "Text in Art", Sharon. CT. She was selected to participate in the Plein Air Plus 2019 National Juried Competition at LBIF, Loveladies, NJ.
Susan had a solo exhibition at Kent Public Library in Kent Lakes, NY, this year. Other juried exhibitions included “Local Artists” at the Millbrook Library, Millbrook, NY; “Main Street” at Indian
Mountain School, Lakeville, CT; “Girlhood” Celebrating Women’s History Month at the Howl and Cultural Center, Beacon, NY; and “The Fine Art of Watercolor” at Bannerman Island Gallery,Beacon, NY.
Susan received 1st Prize at Sharon Historical Center, Sharon, CT. And at the Friends of theGreat Swamp Celebration she was awarded 3rd Prize and Honorable Mention.

I look forward to return to my home at the Jersey shore on LBI painting the local scene and seeing old friends again. I never tire of the beauty of the Island. I focus on bringing awareness to the viewer of the importance of preserving this treasure. Working with watercolor allows me
a spontaneity and translucency for depicting water and sky.
