Loveladies-LBI Foundation of the Arts and Sciences Gallery
Nora's work is about her conflicted relationship with fashion imagery where women become objects in the glossy spreads of the latest magazine. She chooses her favorite ads from magazines and paints as many as possible until the next issue reaches the shelves. Within her critique, she has found an appreciation for the level of craftsmanship and brilliant use of formal elements within these fashion spreads. She has begun to literally "alter" these advertisements into a new shape.
Studio Experience
Having been raised in a suburb of New York City, she has had a lot of exposure to the fashion industry and is investigating its effect on popular culture through advertising.
